As I was writing “The Definitive History of Screensavers - Part 1”, I ended up needing to look at lots and lots of pictures of CRT monitors with burn-in.

A whole heck of a lot of them were burned because of video games.

Let’s see… what could do with a bunch of monitors with arcade and video game burn-in? What to do… what to do…

*snaps fingers* Got it. Let’s play “Name That Burn-In!”

The rules are simple. Look at each of the following pictures of CRT monitors. Then figure out what video game was being played on each one. And then, you know, give yourself a point for each one you get right. Two points if there are two games on the screen. Then score yourself. Because I’m feeling lazy.

Ok, I didn’t really think this out at all. But check out these old monitors. That’s some crazy burn.

I mean… that one is pretty obvious. Because… it literally says the name.

Whenever I said the name of this game as a kid I held up my hand with my finger bent like a hook. Then I talked like a pirate.

Hint: This one is not Super Mario Bros.

You know. Now that you mention it… I could eat.

Part of this one threw me off for a moment.

Speaking of things you want to leave on your monitor for a really long time (“Nice segue, Lunduke!”)… Lunduke Journal subscribers get a metric ton of benefits. Like this one:
