The BBS is back On-Line, with more games a-comin'!
One of the chief goals of The House of Lunduke BBS is to preserve the best of 1980’s and 1990s BBS gaming — in all its ANSI, colorful text art glory. With that goal in mind, I recently took the BBS Off-Line for a much needed retro-fit… in order to properly accommodate a wider selection of classic BBS “Door” Games.
That retro-fit is now complete and The House of Lunduke BBS is back On-Line and rocking!
You can access the BBS via telnet to:
bbs.lunduke.com on port 23
While you can technically access the BBS via the standard “telnet” software included on most Linux systems, I highly recommend using a telnet client that is custom built for BBS’s and ANSI systems.
Such as SyncTerm, Netrunner, Qodem, or EtherTerm.
Note: The House of Lunduke BBS is free for everyone to use for 30 minutes per day. If you are a subscriber to The Lunduke Journal you can get 24x7 (read: unlimited) access by following the instructions at the bottom of this page. Just one of the awesome perks for becoming a subscriber.
There are currently several games On-Line and playable — including Trade Wars, LORD, Barren Realms Elite, The Pit, and a handful of others). A large collection of games are currently being moved over and setup for play (including Arrow Bridge, SRE, BBS Wars, Planets: TEOS, Usurper, Kannons & Katapults, and so many others).
Some of these games are multi-player / multi-node (where you can compete with other players in real-time). Some only allow one person to play at a time.
Keep an eye on the On-Line Game menu of the BBS to enjoy those games as they come On-Line in the coming days.
If you have specific game requests, feel free to let me know — either in the comments here, over on Lunduke.Locals.com, or in the message area of bbs.lunduke.com.
