FAQ: Lunduke Journal Lifetime Subscription
Since the Lifetime Subscription option was launched, for The Lunduke Journal, there have been a few common questions people have had.
To make things easier for all of us, here are some of the most Frequently Asked Questions about Lifetime Subscriptions. In no particular order.
Are there any special perks for Lifetime Subscribers?
The big perk: Never being charged again (but having a full subscription). For life.
But, aside from that, Lifetime Subscriptions have all of the perks of standard subscriptions, plus all of the perks of Founding Member subscriptions.
I'm already a Founding Member, can I just pay the difference?
Yes! Absolutely!
In fact every subscriber — monthly, yearly, or Founding Member — can subtract the total amount they have paid (to date) from the cost of a Lifetime Subscription.
If you are unsure the total amount you have paid so far, feel free to email bryan@lunduke.com and ask. Easy peasy.
Can I pay part of the subscription on Substack and the other part on Locals?
Absolutely. If you have a subscription via Substack and want to pay the rest via Locals (or the other way around), that works just fine.
How long does it take before my account is set to Lifetime?
You should receive a confirmation message from Lunduke within 12 hours. But a couple hours is typical. (Each confirmation email is written by hand.)
What happens if The Lunduke Journal migrates to a new platform in the future?
If The Lunduke Journal adds a new platform in the future, your lifetime account is good there as well.
Does my email address need to be the same for both Substack and Locals?
Nope! Your email addresses on Substack and Locals can be the same or different. If they are different, Lunduke will contact you to verify which email addresses you use.
Is it better for The Lunduke Journal for subscribers to be monthly, yearly, or lifetime?
It’s really all wonderful. Every subscriber, of every type, helps The Lunduke Journal. It is, truly, up to the subscriber which works best for them!
If you're planning on contiy to be a nerd for more than a few months, a yearly or Lifetime Subscription might make sense. Might as well save some bucks!
I am currently subscribed via Substack, does it make a difference whether I use Substack or Locals to upgrade to a Lifetime Subscription?
If you are currently a subscriber, via Lunduke.Substack.com, and would like to upgrade to a Lifetime Subscription, you can follow these instructions to change your account subscription (then follow the steps outlined below).
I personally recommend simply using Lunduke.Locals.com to upgrade an account to Lifetime as it is a few less steps and you’ll want a Locals account anyway. (See below for exactly how to do that.) But both options (Substack and Locals) work.
How to Become a Lifetime Subscriber
On Substack:
Go to the Lunduke.Substack.com subscription page.
Select “Founding Member”. For a Lifetime Subscription enter $350 (minus any amount you may have already paid for an existing subscription) into the Founding Member field.
You will then be contacted by Lunduke to confirm your Lifetime Subscription.
On Locals:
Go to the Lunduke.Locals.com subscription page. Select the “Annual” option, and select “Card”. For a Lifetime Subscription enter $350 into the this field (minus any amount you may have already paid for an existing subscription).
You will then be contacted by Lunduke to confirm your Lifetime Subscription.
