To be fair to Microsoft, they now require Linux as part of their business plan. Without Ubuntu on Azure, Microsoft wouldn't be as strong a company as they currently are. It is, IMO, a good thing for companies to fund the things they use in the open source space when they are able to do so. Of course, this is still Microsoft. I am certain that their interest is not purely benevolent. They still have insane license requirements on all of their stuff, they seem committed to closing Windows as a platform. Certainly not great.

OTOH, this could be great for me. I hate systemd and pulse. With Lennart being a softie, perhaps the Linux world will turn against those projects.

I refuse to see evil anywhere in my life until it’s too late. I’m a fragile little plant and too scared to admit that we don’t all have aligned interests. I’m too timid to fight for mine and instead pray for benevolent big brother to take care of me… please?
