I was at MS in this era. I worked in building 25 from 97-99, before an org change and a building move to 2. I enjoyed the video games on the second floor. MSNBC was also in 25 back then. Good times! SiteServer 3.0!
Hey cool! I was in building 25 in 98 / 99 as well! Third floor for most of it. Worked in the SiteServer group too! I was on Wallet (which was a super small team). (After that I was on Media Player X-Plat.)
I remember watching MSNBC on the internal stream thinking how cool it was that the team was on the floor below me. ;)
I remember working in the lab, installing the SS 3.0 stack on Compaqs and Alphas. I moved on to the Windows team after that, stuck it out until 2014. Did you participate in the AOE lan parties at lunch?
So many rounds of installing NT 5 (before it renamed to Win2k) on those Alphas! :)
I joined shortly after the Age of Empires launch, so I missed out on the launch lan parties. Played it a whole lot during my first few years there with some of the guys on my team though!
