Back in the day there was a windows shell replacement to replace explorer with LCARS. It didn't seem to work very well with the idea of file and directory notions. It was difficult to figure out how to launch applications. I don't think this implementation has anything to do with that implementation. I would love to see a video review of this desktop to see how it works and how well it manages the abstraction of our file systems that we use today.
