Are you using an IPhone? If we want good, secure, non-spying hardware and software, we should support ONLY companies that care about their consumers. Right now, I can understand, that hardware is not good on the opensource side. But we have good software (mainly Graphene OS). I couldn't imagine myself using something else, than Pixel phone with Graphene OS on it. At worst, you can create Matrix bridge server on Raspberry PI, to link other messengers to Matrix. I didn't had to even do that, most people I have on Signal. I created only Rapberry PI Matrix private instance (for my SMS bridging privacy). It's the simplest SMS solution for answering SMSes on PC. Phone syncing client is on F-droid. Do all that on IPhone!
Why not Matrix - Element (for live calling show)? Works great. Or Jitsi Meet, even simpler? In Jitsi, you don't have to even login in, nor have any software installed on your computer to connect.
Oh, and speed transfer? WiFi 6 and 5G are the answer, probably. And maybe some proprietary Apple wireless protocol even. It's Apple, they have money to pour on that.
The thing is, the EU law talks about devices that needs wired charging, should have USB-C. Apple sad, they'll "comply". they never said they'll use USB-C.
So, the rumors about Apple planning move a move to a portless iPhone kind of started to look more than just rumours now.
