Absolutely awesome!
Lunduke.Locals.com has become my absolute favorite place to hang out on the Internet. No trolls. No politics. No cursin’ or swearin’. Lots of friendly, happy, supportive nerds talking about fun, nerdy stuff.
A huge thank you to the entire Lunduke Journal community for making this amazing place possible. You have given me a calm sanctuary in a sea of cranky, troll-filled social media sites.
Every day, I smile a little extra because of what I read on Lunduke.Locals.com. And that is — quite literally — because of all of you.
Here’s a sampling of quotes from some of the amazing nerds over there:
“I've pretty much limited my social media time to Locals at this point, specifically Lunduke.locals. The people here are really cool and respectful and we have a shared interest. I've not seen any trolls here and it's been an all around pleasant experience. It's kind of like Twitter meets an old discussion forum which makes me smile.”
“This is essentially the only online community that has ever held my attention for more than a week. I think of it this way... I'd buy a round for everyone at this table just to hang out for a bit and chat. good vibes, different perspectives... high signal to noise ratio!”
“This is the first significant and by far the most active social media site and community I’ve been involved with. It’s great to be able to mention some fairly obscure piece of niche technology , old or new, or other nerdy interest and have others here know what you are talking about, perhaps even appreciate it in a similar way, and who will relate it to their own experiences and knowledge.
It’s also great that we can crack nerdy jokes and have others “get” them and riff on them right back.”
“This particular group of non-yelling folks is also a lot of fun. I really look forward to checking in throughout the day and seeing the shenanigans everyone gets up to.”
“Here we have fun, tinker, reminisce, joke around. Very cozy.”
“I love hanging out here for the people and the content. This is BY FAR the best tech/nerd/geek community out there, even dare I say the best social media out there right now. Nothing really holds a candle to what we have here. The content here is the best bar-none. The sheer amount of knowledge in here with your content and everyone else's posts and contributions is nothing short of vast and amazing. The people here are some of the nicest bunch I have ever met in a tech community.”
“This community is less like a forum and more like a social media network for nerds. Minus the worst parts of social media. I can't honestly say it's replaced all my other forums, but I've gotten to where most of my spare online time is spent here. And I'm cool with that. 😀
And there's something to be said for Lunduke's content, too! Podcasts, articles, comics, videos, even games! What's not to love?”
“There are people young and old, left and right, vi and emacs, Mac and PC, board designers and people who have never picked up an iron... But we all enjoy playing with technology. It's not that we all work in tech (do we all, even?) but that even aside from that we do it for fun. So that means we can still have all these conversations and get to hear lots of different opinions.”
“I'd say all of the above and add in a song line to boot....
