Linus Sebastian attempts to install Linux video editor, entire universe implodes
"We kind of all saw it coming, you know?" says one fellow YouTuber.
The entire Universe imploded on itself, Tuesday night, as Linus Sebastian — popular Canadian YouTuber and host of “Linus Tech Tips” — attempted to install an open source video editing software, known as Kdenlive, on his Linux Desktop computer.
“I guess I was using the wrong repository? Or something?” asked a stunned Sebastian.
“I think… I think I just did a sudo apt install kdenlive — wait! wait! — no, that can’t be it. A Flatpak, maybe? Was it… pacman? Oh, shoot. Was I running Arch or Debian? Huh. Anyway. I guess that caused the whole universe to implode or something.”
The Twitterverse promptly erupted:
“I told him this would happen,” stated @GoonieDood411. “He kept trying with this Linux stuff, and it just kept getting worse. I told him. Linus, I said, you keep running Linux and, damnit, somebody is gonna get hurt.”
“Has he even submitted a bug report?!” one indignant Kdenlive project member yelled at nobody in particular.
“I mean, it was funny when Pop! OS like basically ate his computer,” quipped one Linux user. “Wait. Pop! OS has an exclamation mark, like, right in the middle of the name. Which is weird. Like… it’s off-putting for some reason. What was I saying? Anyway, this implosion thing sucks.”
“I’m calling it right now,” declared one twitter user. “It’s Arch.”
“Not it!” declared Linux computer maker System 76. “Whatever is going on there. Not us. Someone else.” Accompanied by the “Nothing to See Here” animated Gif from Naked Gun.
“I don't get it,” tweeted one Linux user. “It works on my machine.”
The hashtag #ThirdWorstThingThatLinuxEverDid, was trending for roughly half an hour after the Universe implosion event.
This is satire… SO FAR.
