A new (free) racing game for DOS has been released!
From a developer that has released racing games for Amiga, Linux, Sega Genesis, and... Haiku?!
I love seeing new games developed for retro and alternative operating systems! Just warms my nerdy little heart.
Well, recently released (as in a few months ago, but I totally missed it) by FranticWare (aka Vojtěch "frca" Salajka), is a new racing game — for DOS — called RCross… and it is absolutely adorable.
I love the old-school 3D style of it all. Reminds me of the various “voxel” like games of the 1990s, or some of the 3D Super Nintendo “Super FX” chip games. There’s something about low-polygon games that I find distinctly charming.

But — hey hey! — what have we here? It turns out this same developer has developed multiple racing games… for a whole bunch of platforms!
MultiRacer was released for Windows, Linux (including Raspberry Pi), MacOS X, AmigaOS, AROS, MorphOS… and Haiku?! What?!

Then there is MREGA, which he released for DOS, Windows, Haiku, and… Sega Genesis. Not kidding. This developer is a machine!
Keep up the great work, FranticWare!
