TUIFI Manager: A file manager, in the terminal, with file icons made out of ascii characters.
Because... why not?
Behold! TUIFI Manager!
“What in the heckatarnations am I looking at?!”
That, right there, is a file manager for the terminal. Written in Python (using an NCurses wrapper). That runs on Linux, Windows, & Mac.
… and, perhaps most interestingly, it displays icons for files and folders… built entirely out of ASCII characters.
Which — I mean, dang! — those icons look surprisingly good! Color me impressed!
You can grab TUIFI Manager from Github.
Oh man! day after day, I keep finding pieces of software that shows we definitely went wrong somewhere and started unnecessarily bloat everything . One more program to work nicely with my old mono core 512mb of RAM lifebook laptop
This will be excellent on the DevTerm since those icons kind of remind me of very early GUIs.
