I don’t use YouTube much these days (because YouTube sucks). You can now find my big shows over on Lunduke.Locals.com.
For handy-dandy reference, I’ve linked to some of the biggest “Linux Sucks” shows right here. In chronological order.
Linux Sucks 2014
This edition of “Linux Sucks” was recorded live at LinuxFest Northwest on April 26th, 2014.
Warning: This show has a small amount of naughty words in it. I typically don’t publish shows with swearing nowadays, but this particular show is historically interesting and worth preserving. And, back then I still made shows with a wee bit ‘o cursin’.
2014 was an interesting time in Linux history, and this show captures a unique snapshot of it. So much has changed in the years that followed.
Despite being filmed (if memory serves) on an old Nokia N900 (Debian Linux powered) smartphone… with no proper lighting, or dedicated microphone… Linux Sucks 2014 has been viewed over 1.5 Million times. Not too shabby.

Linux Sucks 2016
The 2016 edition of “Linux Sucks” was recorded as the big “Evening Event” of the Southern California Linux Expo back in January of 2016 at the Pasadena Convention Center.
Big hall. Big crowd. Tons of fun.
I brought in a few fun guests for this one. Including Richard Stallman, Cory Doctorow, Jim Whitehurst (back when he was the CEO of Red Hat) and — I’m totally serious — Piers Anthony (Sci-Fi and Fantasy author of the Xanth series and a ton of other books).
This is one of my favorite shows. So many absolutely ridiculous moments. I’ve also done a Commentary Track for this one, if you’re interested in some behind the scenes jibber jabber (the Commentary Track is a perk for Locals subscribers).

Linux Sucks 2017
Billed as “Linus Sucks… for the last time”. Which it wasn’t. ;)
Recorded live at the Southern California Linux Expo (SCaLE) on March 2nd, 2017. This was the big evening event for the conference, recorded in the big ball room. Not 100% sure how many people were there. Somewhere between 700 and 1,000. I think that was what that room could hold. Something like that. Good sized crowd.
WARNING: There are a few swear words in this show. I typically stay 100% family friendly — especially nowadays — but back in 2017 I let a few naughty words slip in there. Still a fun show.

Linux Sucks 2019 – “The Lost Recordings”
In 2019, I did a live show called “Linux Sucks: In Space”.
That 2019 show? … It was a total trainwreck. In nearly every conceivable way.
Significant portions of the video were lost.
The entire slide deck was lost (seriously).
I had two of my kids with me (3 and 8) as my wife was at home with our newborn – and my 3 year old managed to get into several portions of the video (and audio)… being as I don’t want to publish widely distributed video of my kids, those chunks became totally unusable.
Add to that the fact that some portions of the show just went off the rails anyway… Whew! What a mess! What can ya do, eh?
Luckily there were some really fun, usable clips.
I have stitched all of those together (roughly 17 minutes worth) and am presenting them as “Linux Sucks 2019 – The Lost Recordings”.
A little goodie for all of the supporters over on Lunduke.Locals.com. This is one of the few “Linux Sucks” videos that I keep locked away for just the hardcore fans. It’s simply too ridiculous.
Linux Sucks 2020
This is the 2020 installment of "Linux Sucks" -- originally released on May 28th, 2020.
Two notable things about this version:
It was the first version ever recorded that wasn’t in front of a live audience. Because no conference was running. Because of Covid.
Every slide was 160 x 90 pixels. Why? Because I felt like it. ;)

Linux Sucks 2021
The least goofy “Linux Sucks” ever. By a long shot.
This one is a big ball of seriousness. If you’re looking for a good, cathartic laugh about Linux… watch any of the others. ;)
