Lunduke on the History Channel
H2 anyway. And mostly in the UK and a few other countries. But it still counts.
A few years back I recorded an episode of an in-production TV show for the History Channel tentatively titled “The Unexplained”. I was brought in to talk about surveillance via cell phones (and the weird, but totally real, government links to AR games like Pokemon Go).
The show was hosted by radio host, Jimmy Church, and sometime before it began airing was renamed to “Breaking Mysterious”.
Here’s the crazy thing… I’d never seen the episode! It barely aired in the USA. Mostly in Canada, Australia, UK, and Europe. Turns out the show is now available to stream on Amazon Prime in the UK, so I finally got a chance to see it.
So I sat down to watch the episode, like 4 years after recording it. 5 years? Shoot. Math is hard. Anyway, I finally watched it.
A few minutes into the episode they introduce me.
This is what they call, the “Hero Shot”. Seriously. This is where they introduce a person and try to make him look as awesome as humanly possible.
… hey. Wait a second. “Brian”? D’oh! They spelled my name wrong! Curses! Y! Bryan with a Y, my dudes!
Ha!
Oh, well. What can ya do? At least they spelled the “Lunduke” part right!
Also, see that? “TECH JOURNALIST”. All in caps. On TV. That’s how you know it’s official!
You know what’s cool? This is on the “History” channel. I am officially, according to history, the “tech journalist”. (Yeah, you heard me. The only one. Can’t argue with that. It’s part of History.)
Here’s me layin’ down some splainin’ to the host, Jimmy Church. Later on, I recorded a few radio shows hosted by Jimmy (including two on this same topic on Fade to Black and Coast to Coast AM). Good guy. Good interviewer. One heck of a righteous radio voice.
Then I give Jimmy… the look.
What does that look mean? You know. You know what that look means.
Ha! Anyway.
I don’t have the rights to release the episode. But, if you have Amazon Prime in the UK, check out Breaking Mysterious. I’m in Episode 1 (“The Watchers”). Hopefully they release it on Prime or something in the States soon. That would rule.
