We’ve had some pretty incredible themed weeks here at The Lunduke Journal.
DOS Week, BSD Week, Haiku Week, 8-Bit Week, PDA Week… each giving us a chance to break out of our regular computing environment and try something new. To broaden our computing horizons and learn a little bit more about the history, and inner workings, of systems we my not be as familiar with.
That’s a lot of learning. A lot of… enlightenment. It’s time to take a week to reward ourselves for all of that studiousness.
Starting now — and running through April 5th at 8am — we’re going to focus on video games. Because we deserve it.
And, because this is The Lunduke Journal, we’re going to be playing (and talking about) gaming specifically on Linux.
I’ll be posting a number of items over the week (both on Substack and Locals) and the community is invited to post their own gaming adventures over on Lunduke.Locals.com.
Anything about Linux gaming is fair game!
Screenshots, video clips, or thoughts about games.
Links to new (or old) games you think others might enjoy.
Anecdotes and tales of gaming (using Linux) in days gone by.
Installing Linux on gaming hardware (from PS2 to Dreamcast).
Playing AAA games on a Steam Deck? FOSS games on a Debian laptop? Or maybe even terminal games on a Linux server?
Talk about it in The Lunduke Journal community!
I have been very much looking forward to this week for a long time. It’s time to get our game on.
