FBI seized Backpage.com in 2018 - and their replacement website is WEIRD

And it remains fascinatingly weird several years later.

In 2018, the FBI (along with multiple other agencies) seized the website Backpage.com. And the website that the government agencies put in place is... really, really weird. Just downright ODD. Because I find this interesting I pick apart the "website has been seized" page they put in place (including the HTML, the image, and the whois information) -- if, for no other reason, than to document the way the US government does such things.

This video was originally recorded on April 8th, 2018. It is presented here, unedited. It remains weirdly fascinating.

Note: The government has continued to renew the registration for Backpage.com, and host their website for it, to this day.
